Holiday Inn Express Evansville, an IHG Hotel

My son and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Evansville East. One night, single room, two queen sized beds. The room and the entire facility was nice. It was clean and well kept. Four pillows per bed, two foam piece pillows and two that felt like actual feathers. Slept great. The next morning, the continental breakfast was really good. Everything was real and properly cooked, including the scrambled eggs. It was clean and well attended to by Stacy. She is responsible for the breakfast layout and it stood out. She was friendly and took pride in the breakfast she served to her customers and it showed. Even the coffee, though it came from a machine, was actual drip coffee and very good. I only give 5 stars when its deserved. After a 10 hr workday, we get to the hotel we booked. It was a quality inn. The staff was nice, but the property was disgusting. When we walked into our room it was a total disaster. Im seriously talking nasty. I was beat and just wanted to take a shower and relax. Everywhere I looked something wasnt cleaned. There were stains on the walls, spots on the bedding, sticky bathroom floors, broken screen on the window, and no shampoo in the dispenser on the shower wall. I tried to pick up the phone and call the front desk to ask for a new room and to get the wifi password and the phone was stuck to the base like it was glued with god only knows what. I was very pleased with the whole experience. The hotel is very clean. The rooms were very nice, and the staff was extremely helpful and nice, especially angel who checked me out in the morning!

Our overall experience was good besides being woke up in the middle of the night due to kids stomping and running around in the room above us. We did call the front desk to report it. They said they were going to take care of the situation and shortly after that we received a text message stating that they called them twice and then made a visit to the room. Front desk was really nice for the duration of the stay. The gentleman serving breakfast was very nice and helpful.
