Hyatt Place Austin / Cedar Park

We went to see Comedian Jim Breuer at the Haute Spot directly across the street from the Cedar Park Hyatt.......The Hyatt was top notch! I'm rating it a solid 10 outta 10..... Every staff member was very courteous, professional and extremely accommodating and attentive. Our room was very spacious and clean. There was a large window in our room with a nice view. However, within minutes we noticed the window shade was not working properly. We called the front desk to report this and literally, within minutes, they sent up a very kind, knowledgeable maintenance gentleman. We were thankful he was able to fix the shade timely. Breakfast was included in our overnight stay. Wow! What a surprise to be offered a top notch breakfast with so much variety equivalent or better than most 4 star hotels.

Positive: Quiet area Negative: the restaurant, light menu but they had hamburgers, went down and ordered a hamburger and a glass of red wine, the restaurant was out of both.

I’m extremely disappointed in my recent stay. Cleanliness and customer service were both well below the standard I’ve come to expect from Hyatt. I originally booked a suite specifically for the additional workspace. Upon arrival, the first room had visible pink mold in the bathroom, cracked grout in the shower, and a strong musty odor throughout the space. It was clearly not properly maintained. I was offered the option to move rooms, but only to a smaller standard room. When I asked whether a conference room could be provided the following day to compensate for the lost workspace (since I had booked the suite for that purpose), I was told it would only be available at a cost — $350, though they offered 50% off. We had a very nice stay and would book this location again in the future. Everything was close by—groceries, restaurants, malls, etc. The room was clean and nice, and the staff were terrific. The best part of our stay was the breakfast. I’ve never had this many different choices for breakfast, and they all tasted good too! One morning, the cook from Vietnam prepared rice noodles, and let me tell you—it was a big hit for my hungry tummy. I know noodles for breakfast isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but it definitely was for me. I saw a few other guests loving the noodles too. I’m so happy they offer different food choices instead of the usual breakfast items!

Service was so good, the front desk were so helpful and welcoming. You get 2 water bottles per day per room. The rooms are spacious with a desk, small fridge, dresser/wardrobe in each with a pull out couch. The walls are very thin, though. I could hear next door and above me very easily, not details of the conversations but could hear regular volume talking. The handicap room had a standard tub with grab bars in the tub and by the toilet. I wouldve liked to see a doorstop available or hinge on the main door to stay open for better wheelchair accessibility. The breakfast is pretty good with skillet potatoes, real eggs, frittata, waffles, fruit, etc. The coffee was decent. The oatmeal though was sooo water every day.
