Hyatt House Charleston / Mount Pleasant

I should’ve stayed at my favorite SpringHill hotel 😩. I deeply regret my decision to try a new hotel in Charleston. Hyatt was an absolute disappointment: - black mold in the shower - the shower was leaking (safety issue!) - there is a very strong fragrance in the room (we could also smell it in the lobby). It felt like the hotel was trying to cover up another odor. The fragrance gave me a headache. - there was carpet on the floor in the room - why? Just why? It’s never clean! - stained carpet and bed linens - horrible outdated interior design with gloomy, depressing colors. I’ll stay as far away from Hyatt as possible.

Our stay at the Hyatt House was very good. The location is conveniently located in a quiet area of MT Pleasant with shops within walking distance. It is also only 10 minutes from historical downtown Charleston. The staff at the hotel from housekeeping, to the breakfast team were all exceptionally friendly and attentive. Dominique and Dani who were on front desk duty were the icing on the cake, as they were very hospitable, and knowledgeable about the Charleston area, always ready to assist us whenever we needed assistance. We are looking forward to staying again, with the hopes of having a wider selection of cable TV channels, and the option to use our Netflix account.(It seemed that BET as well as other channels were scrambled with the cable provider that The Hyatt House uses).

First time staying @ this Hyatt House location. In Hyatt fashion, the rooms were clean & everything went smoothly, from check-in to check-out. A fantastic breakfast buffet spread every morning. Shout out to AJ handling the breakfast buffet who went above and beyond to make me some fresh potatoes. Very nice staff and a very hospitable stay.

This is an excellent hotel to stay at whether for the weekend mini vacay, week of vacation, or extended business trip. it's very clean with spacious rooms and comfortable bedding. Staff is friendly and accomadating. Daily breakfast menu varies daily and is always delicious. It is in close to shopping, beaches and dining. The rooms have a full size fridge, mini stove and microwave for those who prefer to have things in the room. It is my go to place to stay when in the area.

I really like this hotel! Pros: Super clean and sleek. Front desk was nice. Location central to all Mount Pleasant activities. AC and refrigerator very quiet. Overall, we had a good stay. Con: The overwhelmingly intense SMELL of CLEANER in the room. It took my breath away upon entering the room. I appreciated the cleanliness of the room, but PLEASE Hyatt House, can you use something unscented and maybe even better, something environmentally friendly? I would stay here again in a second if it weren't for the powerful odor of whatever they used to clean the room.
