Hunters Haven

Great lodging option just south of Aberdeen. One private bedroom/bath on the main floor and a large bunk room upstairs with a huge bathroom. Super clean and all the amenities you could need. The property manager was very friendly and reached out several times to make sure everything was perfect.

This place is a beautiful stay but the ownership is dodgy. I rarely write reviews, but I felt extremely compelled to share about my family's experience with our stay at Hunters' Haven in Aberdeen, SD. First off, we are very avid pheasant hunters and wanted to enjoy a stay in the heart of pheasant territory. We saw this place advertised on VRBO and at a local sportsman's retail store and thought it would be a great opportunity to stay at for a late season hunt. We opted to book directly with the owner, a mistake that we undeniably regret. Amy charged us much more than what the VRBO rate was at the time (charging us $100/person/day versus the $158/night that was listed on VRBO) and made the mistake of documenting the length of our stay incorrectly. My 2 kids (ages 6 and 11), girlfriend, and I had a great stay at Amy's. Her communication was steady throughout the processes. The place had more than enough for our needs. We hope to stay there again if in the area.
