Hotel Oxford

The beds were comfortable and the room was clean but some of the stuff didn’t work. The TV would only display static and the outlet by the bed didn’t work. The phone also didn’t work but we didn’t really need it. Breakfast is nothing special but it’s free anyway. We only stayed one night so as long as we had a place to sleep we were fine. Nice location.

Sometimes you need a cheap motel. The Hotel Oxford didn't offer much in amenities, but the room was large, had a desk, a packet of shampoo that resembles a packet of salad dressing, and bars of soap that advertised that they were "gental." The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and you don't have to worry about coffee. There was no coffee maker in the room, and the coffee in the lobby was the lousy from-concentrate variety. But you can walk -- without crossing a street -- to the adjacent Starbucks. So take that Hampton Inn!

Positive: Location Negative: The price was very high this weekend. Also on our last trip here we stayed in the same room. I reported that our sink was open, missing a stopper. She said she would report this. On this stay, a month later,. the sink was still missing it's stopper.

I traveled to Oxford area for a funeral and hotel rooms were hard to come by that weekend so I took a chance on Hotel Oxford with their rates being half compared to other hotels. You get what you pay for I guess. I booked a room with king bed and was given a double bed room, which was priced $25 lower. The guy at desk said he could not help me. Management is never on site apparently and all you can do is email them. They don't reply. Horrible. I have sent 3 emails about getting a refund. Nothing. Besides that, in the room itself, the main light switch didn't work. Electrical outlets by the beds don't work to charge a device. The stairwell was poorly lit. Breakfast was a few granola bars and coffee. The only good thing I can say is the shower and toilet worked and the bed linens appeared to

I get that this is a bare bones operation type motel but it's kind of sad when the room has coffee cups and no coffee maker. The bath tub had black marks all on the bottom, not sure what it was but it looked nasty so we did not use the showers. We decided to wait until we drove back home to clean up. The couch also had black marks on it. It smelled like whatever cleaner they use in nursing homes. Was quiet and close to the interstate so that's a plus, but for $140 plus $100 deposit, I don't think I could ever recommend this place.
