Hotel Kilbourne Downtown Sandusky

My partner and I recently stayed at Hotel Kilbourne for two nights in the loft during our visit to Cedar Point, and it was absolutely lovely. This boutique hotel is a gem! Our room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and beautifully styled. The service was excellent across the board, with a special shout-out to Gerry at the front desk, who was absolutely lovely and made us feel welcome. We will definitely be back!

The hotel is conveniently located near Jackson Pier and the downtown area, which places it close to many shops, restaurants, and pubs all within walking distance and free, public parking right across the street. It was, however, a little difficult to find. We expected to see a sign on the door identifying the hotel. There is a sign on the building near the roofline, but it is not readily visible from the sidewalk. What you see instead is the logo of the on-site restaurant OhTaco! The hotel itself is very cute and well decorated. The staff was friendly.. But unfortunately being in a room above the bar has made me not want to return. The Front desk told us upon check in it closes at 11. Music was still going strong at midnight….then kept right on to 1:00. I had ear plugs but the base still was loud so barely any sleep was had..

What a great small boutique hotel! It's centrally located and right next to Jackson Street Pier, which was beautiful. While the rooms are on the smaller side, it was perfect for just my husband and me—we didn’t need anything larger. The hotel has a completely different vibe than any place we’ve stayed before. The design is modern and bold, with black walls and an exposed brick accent wall that adds character. The bathroom was a good size and up to date. Everything was very clean, and the bed—along with the pillows—was exceptionally comfortable. For the first time ever, we stayed in a hotel where the curtains truly blocked out all the light, which made for a great night’s sleep. Although we didn’t dine at the restaurant and bar downstairs, it looked inviting. We did check out the rooftop

Room was ok and clean but freezing. The fireplace heater did not work and there was no hand soap in the bathroom. The service desk person tried her best to fix things but wasn't able to. The next day you would think they would have given us a discount, but didn't.
