Hoosville Hostel

You get what you pay for. The crowd was odd and the facility was under construction. Found a few roaches in the Buddha room bathroom but nothing terrible. The backyard is under construction as of Feb 2025 so not a ton to see there. Room was cool and I was given sheets to use as makeshift curtains. Overall good launch place for Everglades and biscayne but I certainly would not recommend making this your only activity if your stay. Run down but gets the job done. Check in was difficult and frustrating but parking is very easy. I definitely got the sense that some people lived there longer term. Finally the water shut off overnight as I was leaving which didn’t affect me but was concerning.

It's a little weird for Americans to stay in this kinda place but it's amazing. This is a great place to stay if you don't care about amenities. You can cook your own food and sleep in great beds at amazing prices. It's friendly and you're right next to everything. Sluff off your normal travel and stay here. After all did you come here for the hotel or the sights? Love this place!

The one staff person I spoke with was professional and polite. The check-in process of the easy was super slow. All the amenities and pictures that we saw on the advertisements weren't available when we checked in and stayed there. However the air conditioner was a small window unit that struggle to cool the entire room we had to add a fan of our own to the mix to get it to cool down at all

Typical hostel issues of occasional noise and light, but you've gotta expect that given the shared rooms, bring ear and eye gear just like you're sleeping on a plane. Otherwise good price and easy check in.

In my opinion, you should like sharing bathrooms with other guests, mostly men. More like a halfway house. Very narrow halls and bright lighting. A strong odor of mint and some unknown chemicals. Rooms are UPSTAIRS. This place is not for the handicapped. However, the people staff were friendly and helpful. The parking was directly at the front door which is great. The air conditioning in one room was warm and the other room was freezing. Very secure and safe building. The area is a little slummy. I was going to stay 2 nights but left the next morning. Bathrooms are next to 2 of the rooms and there are doors slamming all the time, as they are heavy.
