Homewood Suites by Hilton Dallas/Arlington South

I've been returning to this hotel everytime im in the area for work and it's been alright most of the time. However, during my current stay, I was told I needed to move rooms due to ongoing renovations. I tried to move as soon as I got a note on my door due to having food in the fridge that needed to stay cold, and ended up getting sent back to the same room with a promise from management that they would move my stuff to a new room the next day while I was at work if I packed it up, they also let me choose an item from the marketplace for free as consolation. I did as I was told, and they did move all my stuff including my food, but left all the refrigerated and frozen food sitting out all day in the new room! We had a wonderful experience at Homewood Suites Arlington South! The hotel was very clean and easy to get to, with a safe, convenient location right off the freeway. The staff greeted us every time we entered and were consistently courteous and welcoming.||Our King suite was spacious and well equipped with everything from a dishwasher and mini full-size fridge to a microwave and stovetop. It truly felt like a home away from home. There was also on site laundry facilities that we did use. The washer and dryer did they job they were supposed to. ||Breakfast was a highlight: fresh, tasty, and different each day. The kids especially loved the clean pool and the bonus putt-putt area! Location is good as it’s very close to main freeway, as well as just down the street from places to eat. Rooms a 2 star because although it appears from a distance this place did a make-over…after close up and inside the rooms, still dirty, not very well maintained, and the cosmetic fixes they did was more like slapping lipstick on a pig to get by. Bathrooms were kinda dirty looking especially corners and grout lines in shower, dirty walls and dust on all the ceiling decors/hvac. Staff was nice to talk to, but no matter who you spoke to, seems like no once communicates issues or work orders. Found out by checking my door before I used my card to open it- that the bedroom door didn’t latch closed, or locked. The hotel is very nice, especially for the price. Some aspects of individual rooms show wear, but that is reflected in the lower ppn of the rooms. There are nearby extended stays by Hilton for 30-40$ (or more) a night more that do not have the same visible wear. The king oom is VERY spacious. Patio has a ton of seating but you can't enjoy the fire pit unless someone turns it on for you.... I asked but no one ever showed. :(
