Homewood Suites by Hilton Columbia

We stayed here for one night during a quick trip to the lights at Riverbanks Zoo. It’s very convenient to the zoo! Before arriving, we completed online check in and received a text from Sonja at the hotel to see if we had any needs. She made sure the sofa bed bedding was in the room and even left bottled water (Hilton Honors perk) in the room- a nice touch! Only issue we had was that our digital key didn’t work but it was an easy fix. Beds were comfortable, room was spacious and clean, and breakfast offered more than similar hotels (even a breakfast taco station with pulled pork and a variety of condiments.) Great stay!

We were treated like priority guests from the minute we walked into the hotel. The staff is excellent and met all of our needs. The breakfast was tasty and the Wednesday night social/dinner was really pleasant! We had fun at the pool and enjoyed the hot tub, and we slept really well on our clean rooms on comfortable beds. For a 3-star hotel, there were only a few things that could materially improve. As far as service and care go, I can't say I've had it better. We will be back! Update 12/2025: we came back! The staff recognized us and greeted us warmly. The breakfast and the cleaning service were both great. We didn't get our connected rooms, though, per our reservation, and that made our time pretty difficult with splitting up my family of 6 and all our luggage from moving.

Positive: The staff are friendly and approachable, making me feel very welcome; they seem to enjoy their jobs genuinely. I loved that it has an indoor pool, conveniently located near the interstate, grocery store, Zoo, and other attractions. Negative: I enjoyed everything about this hotel. Anyone experiencing issues with this location chose to suffer in silence.

While I was in the lobby, Angela Bishop Hammond approached me and was such a lovely woman. She is the hospitality assistant for the Hotel, but I call her the queen of the hotel. It was very informative about the area and just so sweet. Great hotel is clean and I would return.

I have been staying here because my truck broke down. Nolan at the front desk is amazing! Now for the worst part. I am traveling from a race in NC and needed to do laundry. Went down stairs and noticed they didn’t have any laundry detergent. I asked if they had any in the back they didn’t then I asked if they could go and grab some for me at a store I would pay for there time and product (I have no vehicle to leave it’s in the shop.) was told to insta cart it by the manager. Then a little later I see one of the mangers walk in with captain d’s for lunch MUST BE NiCE. Way to take care of the people that spend money with you. It’s small I know but it’s the small things that make people come back. Plus I don’t normally leave reviews but this needs to be said.
