Holiday Inn Express Wichita South by IHG

The hotel is in desperate need of maintenance. My hope is that the management company can take these notes and make them actionable for future guests. The Good: -The air filters on the room air handler were clean! Well done ensuring that these were not caked in dust. -The front attendant (when present) was very friendly. -The pool was open! This is huge for our kids after a long travel day to get some energy out. Needs Attention: -Surface rust on bathroom fixtures & tub drain (roof exhaust fan(s) likely not functioning). -Caulking around tub has failed and needs to be replaced. -Floor base is damaged throughout the hotel and needs to be replaced. -Wallpaper in the hallways is damaged throughout. -Lights in the pool area half burnt out/not functioning. -Ventilation in the pool area should

We had to change rooms because the room across from us was used for the staff's kids during the day who were loud, slamming doors and running up and down the hallway.||In our next room we were inside with the "Do Not Disturb" sign on a man tapped on the door once and then opened the door. He said, "maintenance," but didn't look like a maintenance man at all. When he saw we were in the room he said he was there to "check the tv." That was a very lame excuse and was not an acceptable answer at all. They can "check the tv" when we are checked out.and there is no one assigned to the room.||I found the manager and the guy was standing next to him. Tiffany at the front desk was amazing! I had the worst week of travel and her kindness, compassion, and professionalism were the biggest sigh of relief! Thank you so much for your help!!! Their bar and restaurant staff are also great. Nice pool, clean and rooms. I will never stay anywhere but a Holiday Inn from now on and we travel a lot. Thank you again Tiffany and whoever raised Tiffany right !

We had no prior room reservation, and the staff member made it easy to reserve and pay for a room. The original room we were assigned to, no one knew how to adjust the temperature (it appeared it was not working properly), so we were given a different room. The room was spacious, clean, & quiet from the neighboring rooms, and the beds were very comfortable (as all IHG Hotel beds are that we have stayed at). The bathroom was satisfactory as well - loved the Dove products. We utilized the fitness room but the wet wipes in the container apparently are not used often as several of them that we pulled out were not wet. I noticed many comments stating that the AC didn’t work, or the hot water wasn’t working, but it worked out perfectly for us. Has Shampoo, Conditioner, Body wash, hand soap, and body lotion all by Dove. Has a pool indoors, so it’s nice to be able to swim in october. I believe it was a great stay and if I come back to Wichita, KS, I will definitely stay here again! The refundable fee is only $10 per day of your stay, and most hotels it’s $50-$100 refundable deposit after your stay.
