Holiday Inn Express & Suites Shreveport - West by IHG

Wasn’t sure about this hotel after reading reviews but my options were limited and Holiday Inn Express is usually a good choice. Turned out this was a good stay. Front desk clerks were friendly. The room was clean, the beds and pillows were comfortable, the air conditioner was quiet!! And the water pressure in the shower was good and hot. The bath could use a walk in shower instead of a tub, the baseboards need a refresh and the sink water pressure was low. Overall I recommend this hotel.

I reserved an accessible room and when I called the day of arrival, I was informed that the handicapped accessible room was on the 4th floor, and the elevator was broke. When I asked when it would be fixed, the desk clerk very rudely said “it won’t be fixed during your stay”. The clerk acted as if I were bothering them by calling. My 83 yr old mother was traveling with us. I asked if there was an accessible room on the first floor, and she said yes, without the couch. The room was not accessible. The toilet sat low to the ground, no bars in the bathroom and the beds were so high we had to help my mother into the bed. The clerk was still being rude during the whole check in process. The ONLY bright side to this stay was the breakfast. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again. Not a good way to

I accidentally left my $200 electric toothbrush in the room and called the same night after checkout. Unfortunately, the hotel was unable to locate it. The stay itself was good and the staff were friendly, but this experience was frustrating. Because I reported it so quickly, I had hoped for a more thorough lost-and-found process. I understand mistakes happen, but losing an expensive personal item right after checkout left a bad impression. Based on this experience, I’m rating the stay 1 star.

Positive: Everyone was very accommodating, the rooms were clean and the breakfast was great also offered a lot of options Negative: Yes the door to the room was hard to open and close also the bathroom door as well.

I had a great stay because of the nice hospitality at my check-in. As a truck driver it’s not easy to find parking availability, but for me it was on time right across the street from the police station which made me feel secure about my tractor-trailer. Again the front desk lady was kind and was so helpful in helping me get a room. I definitely will let my comrades know where to stay if a layover comes about. The room was spacious and really cold if you like that. Breakfast was ok, I certainly enjoyed the coffee and cinnamon roll.
