Holiday Inn Express & Suites Shreveport South - Park Plaza by IHG

I booked this room to stay after having surgery. I called morning of arrival and asked could we have early checkin because hospital discharged me early. Gerald called me back immediately that he had our room ready. After arrival, he help us get to room and offered to get me anything I needed. The next morning at breakfast, robin checked in to make sure we were good. She then fixed us 2 large bags of goodies and water to take home with us since we had a long ride. Customer service was above and beyond! Room was also perfect! Location seemed safe.

I recently stayed at a hotel in Shreveport, Louisiana, and overall had a good experience. I want to especially recognize Paul, who provided excellent customer service throughout my stay. Check-in was quick and easy — Paul greeted me with a smile and made the process smooth. When I noticed there were no tissues in my room, Paul immediately went out of his way to get some for me, which I really appreciated. As for the room itself, it was decent, but the bathroom could use some updates. There was some rust around the shower area that made it feel a little worn. Breakfast, unfortunately, did not meet my expectations. The biscuits were undercooked and still had wet dough inside. Everyone has a different experience but after reading some other reviews, I had to post ours. This is probably the quietest hotel we have ever stayed at. Spent 3 nights and literally heard NO ONE talking in the halls. The staff were some of the kindest, sweetest people we have encountered at hotels. The breakfast was probably better than 50% of places we have stayed (and we are on the road a lot!) I will agree that the room did have a damp feel in the evenings but it wasn’t intolerable. Carpets are dated so that may contribute to it. There were dehumidifiers in the hall. Perhaps some in the rooms would help. The area was perfect. Hotel was downtown convenient to the interstate. We came into town for my Uncle’s funeral so we were there 1 night. Rooms could be updated but the staff was very friendly. My only issue was that when I booked, I booked through my American Airlines app and booked 2 rooms with king beds. My brother decided to attend at the last minute so I asked to have one room changed to a room with 2 beds and was told I could not change to call AA. AA called and they were told the same thing by the hotel even though there probably were not 50 people at the hotel they wouldn’t change the room which was the exact same cost. The Holiday Inn Suites were beautifully clean, peaceful, comfortable, safe, private, and quite until the train goes by. The train does go by several times a night and it blows it's horn. However, I enjoyed my stay very much and would stay again.
