Holiday Inn Express & Suites Savannah N - Port Wentworth, an IHG Hotel

Great place to stay. Had to make reservations enroute and Haley took care of everything including giving directions. Amazing young lady and thanks for everything. Could not ask for a better place to stay. Great breakfast bar as well. If I am ever back in the area will definitely stay with you all.

Positive: The staff is so friendly and helpful. The hotel is easy to access and close to everything we wanted to do in the area. Negative: There was a slighly musty smell to the room.

This property is well maintained from the parking lot to the lobby and rooms. You can tell the staff takes pride in their jobs. Sheila Rios, general manager, welcomed us, assigned us exactly the room location I requested and gave us information on nearby restaurants. The breakfast area was very well organized , offering many food choices and the coffee was fresh brewed, the best I've had at a hotel chain.

I stayed here for one night and chose this hotel specifically because it advertised WiFi, which is essential for my remote work that I was planning on undertaking while staying here. Unfortunately, the internet was so slow and unstable that it was effectively non-functional. I woke up at 5am to begin my workday and could not load even the most basic tools. I found two Ethernet jacks in my room and tried those, but both were disabled. I then went to the business center, which had three Ethernet ports connected to two computers and a printer. With staff permission, I disconnected one to plug in my laptop. After 30 minutes of troubleshooting, I discovered that all business center Ethernet jacks were disabled as well. This hotel is an average grey-box-off-the-exit option. Checking reviews on Booking.com this was rated an 8.9, the highest in the area. I have no idea why. It's just another plain vanilla chain with the minimal possible services. Yes, as many people stated, it's pretty clean. So clean in fact my room was overpoweringly reeking of chemicals. The nice front desk young man admitted my room had just recently opened so it probably had just been specially cleaned. I moved to another room which smells less, but which has lightbulbs out and the AC is not controlled by the wall unit as in the first room. I had poor experiences at the Hampton Inn near here on my way to and from FL last year and this year it was even worse. Of note, Port Wentworth has terrible traffic near the hotels (that are groupe
