Holiday Inn Express & Suites San Diego-Escondido

After a long day of work, I was exhausted and needed to find a nearby hotel at a rate that was reimbursable through my employer. After doing a quick “around me” search, Holiday Inn Express & Suites San Diego-Escondido popped up. Doing a cross-check between Yelp and Google, I saw that they had pretty good reviews. Being that they only had two rooms available for the desired price, I did not hesitate to book the reservation. Although the establishment had good reviews pertaining to the cleanliness and amenities of the hotel, poor customer service was a reoccurring theme in the reviews that I read. Therefore, I was shocked when I entered the establishment and was warmly greeted by a front desk employee by the name of Mark. Mark informed me about the hotel’s amenities (including the free brea

Overall the property was checking all the boxes: good location, clean room, friendly staff at check-in, comfortable bed. Breakfast selection was good although food was lukewarm as soon as they opened. Then we found that we couldn't get any hot water for a shower. We were just driving home, so washcloths it was and quicker check out. Definitely what we'll remember most about the hotel.

My reservation was not honored. They tried to spin it that I was getting an upgrade, but it absolutely was not. I told them I wanted what I booked, but they did not have those rooms available. I told them I would like to cancel, but unfortunately you can only cancel before check in time or you will not be refunded. How was I supposed to know they gave my room away before I checked in?! To add insult to injury, the breakfast only had a few of the items in the trays, which were never refilled (with over half an hour before breakfast hours ended). I will never stay at an IHG hotel again. Customers should not be sleeping on the floor because of your mistakes.

Positive: A/C was fantastic and the front desk was just delightful. The kitchen staff was wonderful as well. Negative: Noisy bathroom fan that didn't move much air.

Just don't do it. I booked a room through Booking.com and upon arrival, I met Mark and Jerome (Jerome didn't have a badge, so I couldn't confirm his name). They told me in order to check in, they needed to take photos of my driver's license and credit card, I used front and back, and the payment will be processed the next morning. I prepaid before I showed up. so I followed up with booking.com and they told booking.com the wanted a carbon copy of only my credit card. Its been two days and holiday inn hasn't responded to me or booking.com. So go ahead check-in here you will get a affordable room and your identity stolen. Guess I'll be calling corporate in Atlanta update yea but they kept my money and refused to check me in unless they photo copied my credit card and Driver's license
