I had an amazing experience! Nicole at the front desk was absolutely wonderful. She assisted me with all my request incredibly welcoming, and helped my family. I was very grateful to meet her. She was so friendly, and knowledgeable. What ever they are paying her is not enough. Just ask Nicole.

I am hesitant to write poor review, but I feel that this property is sorely in need of an overall update and the management needs to address this. HIE is our favorite option for a night on the road when making a long trip. The location just off I-95 was super convenient with easy places to eat and gas up steps away. However, the hotel itself was dingy, our room was dusty, the wallpaper was peeling, tiles cracked, furniture and walls scuffed, tub faucet coming out of the wall, and tub not draining properly. The staff we encountered were hard working and friendly. They deserve better as do loyal HIE customers. Management needs to address updating this property and it will once again be a great overnight on the road.

Positive: Very clean hotel, staff very friendly. Good breakfast, good location, close to restaurants Negative: Hotel was very dated and had some superficial updates ie new lighting etc but needs more investment. Old unpainted bedroom door that didn’t fit, rusty door hinges, old shower fittings, old tile grout, plaster around the window broken and falling away.

The level of ick was disturbing! Upon arrival the ice was clearly unsafe and the welcoming committee wasn't so pleasant not rude but clearly not a fan of their jobs! The walls in our room were nasty but not as nasty as the cockroach (again wish I could post pix) running across the pool floor... breakfast was a minimum have too... oh and not everyone drinks coffee! Speaking of coffee that area was always messy... and it could really use some basic maintenance and upgrading!

Checked in Rm 207. My observations. The bath fan, that is on the light switch in the bath, sounds like a freight train. The ceiling has mismatched paint showing a repair not completed. Cabinets look not quite finished with a raw appearance between the walls and shelves. Carpet looks newer, very comfortable bed. Breakfast would be enough to stave off starvation. Forks are place in receptacle tines up, biscuits would not yield to the flimsy plastic flatware. Overall, this hotel needs maintenance. A significant amount of maintenance. A little more quality with breakfast would enhance the experience. The room lock was finicky and the key had to be inserted multiple times to get into the room.
