Holiday Inn Express & Suites Pittsburgh North Shore by IHG

We stayed two nights at the Holiday Inn in Pittsburgh and had a fantastic experience. We booked two rooms—one with a single queen bed and the other with two beds—and both rooms were exceptionally spacious, far larger than what we usually find, even in more expensive hotels in Canada. Each room included a sofa bed, fridge, microwave, coffee machine, TV, safe, and a proper work station, along with separate hanging areas for clothes in addition to the cupboard. The bathroom was very spacious and well laid out, which made the stay even more comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, with hot food options including omelets, sausages, a waffle-making machine, oats, and all the usual breakfast staples. Everything was fresh and well organized. If you like staying up close and personal to the stadiums and the bridges then this is the place to stay! Front desk service was phenomenal. Every request I had they were prompt to take care of. Room service could use some attention. Twice my bed was made completely improperly: sheets on wrong, fitted sheet completely not tightened down. Parking is about 28/dollars a day and that was off season so keep that in mind if you need to park. Great location and walking distance to anything in the city that is worth visiting. Very good breakfast spread in the morning. The Hot water tap could use cleaned up though. I suspect just hard water.

My overally experience wasnt horrible. The breakfast staff was very attentive to the dining area. She was getting all the trash and cleaning up frequently. Between her and her kicltchen partner, they kept everything running smoothly. My checking in process was not much of an issue. In one of my rooms, there was a cigarette butt in the coffee keirug. Front desk was notified about it, not that it looked like it went anywhere. The best part about the hotel is that theres parking ($28), close to the stadiums, and close access to the highways. Out of everything, the only negative thing i would comment on would be the telephone service I received from the manager Terry, Jerry, something like that. My room was right next to the highway 279 and I could not sleep well the first night because of the traffic noise from the highway. I bought ear plugs the second day. Parking is $28 per night, which is kind of a hidden cost from the inexpensive hotel rate. The hotel has a good location and you can walk to nearby museums and cross the bridge to downtown. However, if I revisit the city, I will be more selective.
