Holiday Inn Express & Suites Opelika Auburn, an IHG Hotel

I must say, this is my preferred place to stay in the area. I've been to quite a few other hotels around town but recently I've just been sticking to this location. For the price, you can't get a better stay. The rooms are comfy and clean. The walls are thicker than most. The staff is great. Ms. Carol was there every morning on my way out to tell me good morning and to have a good day. If I saw her midday, she'd always greet me, wish me well and ask if I needed anything. It's rare that I find hotel staff so welcoming. Normally the staff just ignores you, unless you approach them. Pro tip: Ask to stay on a higher floor, if available. Tiny toddlers running around above you doing zoomies at 530 come in loud and clear. But, maybe you count it as blessing that you don't miss your alarm? Anyways

Normally, I'm understanding about a hotel. I'm this instance, a few things had me out of sorts. #1. A cup of coffee grounds left out in the room. Keep in mind that there was not coffee pot in the room. My guess was that it was a cheap attempt to absorb or mask the overwhelming cologne/perfume from the last guest. #2. Long dark hairs in a supposedly clean shower! Numerous hairs floor and shower walls. Definitely not mine, I'm bald. #3. The meeting room next door that held their gathering with the door open and unchecked volume. Far too much if you were sleeping past 730am. #4. Incredibly tight parking.

The front office was wonderful. Carol went out of her way to make sure our stay was enjoyable & she was so friendly. We asked for extra hand towels & so it happened. 5 stars!!!! This place is clean.

i was in town to visit family and this property was absolutely amazing. they payed such close attention to detail and were so personable. Breakfast was so good everyday and they have extras to make it better like strawberry syrup and chocolate chips for pancakes! Front desk is so friendly, tonya gave us coupons for nearby restaurants and gave suggestions for where we could dine out the next night. We had so much fun just w/the staff. I traded contact info w/Tonya before i left so we could stay in touch. The beds are so good you want to fold them up and take them home! This is the place to be, i promise you wont be dissapointed!

My recent stay at the Holiday Inn Opelika was truly one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had.
