Holiday Inn Express & Suites Mount Airy

Positive: The room was excellent even thought I requested a King bed and received a 2 queen instead. It worked out well. The staff was really diligent and kind during all our time there. Negative: The pool was not working and was one of the reasons we booked with them.

Very unsafe! Especially, if you are a female traveling! Guy at front(Edwin) very nice, but room had obviously been broken into(see photos of broken latch and inside door jam). We called Edwin and informed him upon entering room if it had been broken into. He said no, but came up to look at door only to say it didn’t look like it had been broken in to him(100% from photos, it had). He was nice and offered for us to switch rooms, but we were exhausted after a 12 hour trip and just wanted to sleep. Awoken at 6:30am by howling hound dogs and kids running and screaming in halls. Breakfast very gross(dry muffins, orange juice with particles floating in it???

Hands down some of the nicest staff in the hotel business. ||We needed a place to stay overnight for our trip and this was the halfway mark. We stayed at this hotel both going and coming back.||Beautiful setting, quiet, clean rooms and pet friendly. ||Great breakfast, and solid coffee! That’s always a must!!||Highly recommend!!

A nightmare! The first room had a non working bathroom exhaust fan and the entire bed/ bath reeked of mold. We changed rooms and when I was sitting on one of the beds, a BUG crawled out from under the pillows! The front desk rep did not even apologize when I went down to show her and have room changed AGAIN. Plus, the indoor pool was out of order. A nasty experience booked thru booking.com which I would also not recommend.

Room great , easy access to food and downtown great . Karen front desk manager NOT at all ! Came to check out and advised we were told we check in we would get a discount since the pool was not available due to heating issues, we chose this hotel vs Hampton due to having two toddler with us . Karen barely let us get our sentence out and said NO we are not doing that it’s out of our control and you already got the cheapest rate . Then without asking if she should run the card on file or if we are paying cash she ran the wrong card and had an attitude the entire time . She lives up to her name Karen and this should NOT be the industry she should be in . We swapped room #s with our friends since their room had a couch and she just ran her card even though she knew Awful !
