Comfort Inn Mount Airy

I was impressed. I had low expectations, but I was really happy with my stay. The breakfast was generous, the staff were very kind. We had an issue with our room that they made right. Lobby is nice. Pool was fun. I have small complaints, but for the price, they aren't really dealbreakers.

Check in was fine, no problems. The room, bed and pillows were very uncomfortable, the faucet for the shower didn't work properly but had great pressure. It was clean though, plenty of towels, but needs updating. Breakfast.......not great!! And I am a stickler for a good breakfast. Fake scrambled eggs (yuck), sausage patties (ok), had a pick of white bread, raisin bread, bagel (didn't look that good), Danish, yogurt. Oh, and waffles (ok) was low on the blueberry, you would think they would check that. Was only there for one night, so don't know what they serve other days. Pool was ok. Would I stay again, probably not.

After the reviews, I kinda expected more. As soon as you enter the front lobby door, you are overwhelmed by an overpowering Lysol type odor. This permeated throughout the entire hotel, even into our room. You get used to it after time, but you know it's there. The room... it wasn't the cleanest. The bedding was well worn and the comforter threads were falling apart. The room itself seemed dated and needed a sprucing up. The bathroom had what appeared to have dried urine droplets on the tile floor. They are very hard to see in the attached picture. The bathroom corners had dust, dirt and discoloring all over. The tub/shower wall had something dried on it. Looks like someone had blown their nose and it dried there. The room faced the front of the building where the traffic could be heard. Es

My stay was almost a week long, and I'm very happy to have picked here. Older style of room like when hotels were good; it's spacious but still has everything for a long stay (microwave, fridge, wardrobe, seating) and easily accommodates a wheelchair user. Great continental breakfast (eggs, sausage, waffles, oj/apple juice, coffee, cereal, etc). Staff is friendly and helpful and room service is solid. Would readily stay again.

No hot water the first 3 and a half days and when I let the front desk know the first night there she was no help. She was rude and shrugged her shoulders and said she wasn't sure. Then on our last day there they decided to fix it. Which they said it was a regulator in the shower. But they made us leave our room before maintenence would come fix it. And the room had a bad moldy Smell and wasn't clean at all. It was the worst trip ever.
