Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kokomo, an IHG Hotel

Stayed on the third floor for a couple weeks of work. The service was fine, didn't try breakfast, but these are typically decent. My one major issue was the HEAVY smoke smell when I was trying to fall asleep around 7 to 8 PM several nights, not sure if it was an employee or a guest smoking in their room but this was CHOKING. I would've thought they were hot boxing my own room if I didn't know better

Our stay at the Holiday Inn in Kokomo, Indiana in exceeded expectations. We were there due to a family member at Howard Community Hospital, and the staff, general manager, and cleanliness of the property were all outstanding.

The hotel is nice, and our room was clean. Although those things are taken into consideration when I am booking a hotel, I am a Mom to 3 boys. All they care about is the pool, and they couldn't even use it. The chemicals were so strong, it was burning everyone's eyes and throats. It was so bad that parents were flushing their children's eyes with fresh water to help with the burning. Their eyes remained red, swollen, and itchy for hours after the pool. The other thing I look at when booking is breakfast options. We were told upon arrival that breakfast doesn't get served until 7:30 on weekends (It's 6:30 during the week) We got the feeling that this was intentional, knowing that the majority of their visitors are baseball parents and families in town for nearby tournaments. I arrived in town for a series of meetings. When I arrived at the front desk, no one was there. I walked around the desk to the office and found a team member. She seemed pretty annoyed at my presence.||As I checked in and engaged in small talk, she seemed to relax.||Overall, check-in was alright.||The room was ok. Housekeeping needs to pay more attention to details. There were lots of hands and fingerprints on the desk. The bathroom could use some detailing as well.||The pool was closed. It would have been nice to know when I made my reservations or even prior to my arrival. ||The morning front desk team member was very kind and friendly.

Could not be happier with the staff, in specific. Every person I ran in to was beyond kind. From the housekeepers, cleaners, kitchen staff, and front desk, they were all kind and truly care about what they do and the people that stay in the hotel.
