Holiday Inn Express & Suites Goldsboro - Base Area by IHG

We stayed here for 4 nights. The whole hotel was clean, the rooms were spacious and clean as well. The breakfast was really good with plenty of options, the cinnamon rolls were the best part! From the moment we walked in to the moment we left the day and night staff were amazing, super helpful and friendly. If you needed anything they were on it right away. We needed towels and they were out so the lady at the front desk called our room to inform us that she was washing some towels for us and would have them up to us in a little bit. If I had to complain about anything it’d be that the pool was closed and housekeeping never took our trash. The overall experience was amazing and we will definitely be staying here the next time we’re in NC. 10/10 highly recommend.

I’m genuinely surprised this hotel has such high customer service ratings, because my experience was the worst I’ve had in 30 years of traveling.||When we arrived, the front desk agent, Miles, didn’t greet us and seemed irritated from the start. Our room had used towels thrown on the closet floor, and the refrigerator was missing. When I called, Miles only offered to move us to a king room, even though I paid for a double queen suite, so we waited until morning. The next day, the manager on duty was kind and offered points, and a refrigerator was finally brought to the room.||Unfortunately, things only got worse. Although Holiday Inn Express in Goldsboro is rated as a 3-star hotel, the hospitality and service I received were nothing short of five stars and beyond. From the moment I walked through the door, the team rolled out the proverbial red carpet and treated me with warmth, care, and genuine kindness throughout my stay. I was greeted by Destiny at the front desk, who went above and beyond to find a room that met my preferences — quiet, high floor, and corner location. She was able to place me in a quiet corner double room on a high floor, which was perfect. When I later discovered one of the beds was broken, Destiny immediately apologized and offered to move me to another room. The employees at this hotel were mostly fantastic. I spoke with Arianna over the phone, as I needed to change my reservation. She went above and beyond to assist me, even having to call me back. Once we got to the hotel, Ashley checked us in. Again, Ashley was so friendly and made us feel right at home and very welcomed. The staff for breakfast were excellent and there were many food options. The only negative was when we checked out, the gentleman working the front desk could barely look away from his phone and never spoke to me when I checked out. Otherwise, this is an exceptional hotel. It will be even better, once the heater is fixed in the pool.

I stayed here due to a family emergency. Both the management and the staff were very kind and helpful to me in any way that I needed. I am so thankful for them in this time of need.
