Holiday Inn Express & Suites Destin - Miramar Beach

My wife and I booked this hotel through Booking.com. The reviews looked good, but on our way there, I asked my wife to also check the Google reviews. After reading them, I started to feel a bit uneasy, which is why I decided to write this detailed review. For this price range and this location, there’s simply no way you’ll find a better option. The location is excellent—right in the middle of restaurants, coffee shops, fast-food chains, and a gas station. The beach (Miramar Beach) is just a 5-minute drive away. The rooms are spacious and practical. The shower area felt a little tight for me, so if you’re on the heavier side it might feel even smaller. Pros: The rooms are clean, the bathroom was clean, had great shampoo/body wash and others. The bed was comfortable, and had a nice range of pillow types. Cons: Check in wasn’t great, I waited at least 20 mins to check in, the lady checking the one person in was taking forever, they were just talking and talking. When it was my turn she only spent like 2 mins with me. The gym was out of service. And the breakfast wasn’t great, the breakfast drink machine only had one choice. Now the big thing! I had a late check out (12pm) since we had drove 24 hours there and were really tired. At 7:50 housekeeping attempted to open my door more than 3 times, thankfully I had the extra lock pulled out so they couldn’t come in. This place is the place to stay! Rooms and staff are exceptional! We are a family of 6 - Myself, wife and 4 kids. When we stay we look for cleanliness and environment, this hotel has that and more. We were mixed on staying here because of google reviews but my wife seen the great reviews on booking.com so we took a chance. Would definitely stay here again! Maureen and Brittany are great! Give this place a chance you won’t regret it… + a Dunkin Donut right out the front door?!

By walking in you can tell what bed the last person used. You can tell that the person had long hair. You can tell that counters and table tops we NOT WIPED CLEAN. theres NO EXSCUSE for this in a Tuesday without it being tourist season. I'm a platinum elite member and THIS was unacceptable. I had to spray the entire place down and wipe down everything. As you can see there was even hair in the shower wall
