Henderson Beach State Park

I visited this spot on a road trip and it was well worth the detour to check out. The sand was as white as snow and the water was as clear as drinking water. This was one of the prettiest beaches I have ever visited with the best water by far. The sand was very clean and didn’t smell bad like other beaches do. The sand was also very soft. This park is perfect for families! They have multiple pavilions with restrooms and plenty of seating for gatherings. There were outdoor showers available to rinse off the sand. There are plenty of parking spots as well! Although since this is a state park they don’t allow alcohol which can be a bummer for some. I highly recommend checking out this spot!

Henderson Beach State Park is an absolute gem on Florida’s Emerald Coast and one of the most memorable Florida State Parks I’ve visited. The park features stunning stretches of sugar-white sand, crystal-clear Gulf waters, and beautifully preserved coastal dunes that create a peaceful, natural setting—despite being so close to the heart of Destin. Bella and I found ourselves staying longer than expected due to a major storm, and it turned into an unforgettable experience. We were able to enjoy the dramatic weather safely from the comfort of the RV while the park rangers regularly circled through the campground to make sure everyone was safe. Parking is $6, but it’s definitely worth it. The ranger at the fee station was super kind and helpful. There can be a long line if you arrive in the afternoon. The $6 parking also allows in-and-out privileges. Restrooms are nice, and there’s plenty of parking space. The best part is the beach — absolutely beautiful and clean! Truly the best emerald beach.

Beautiful beaches. Entry fee is required. We did the 9.7 mile loop nature trail by the dunes which was also quite nice. Captured some beautiful views of the ocean.

Henderson Beach State Park, Destin Nice place to relax and unwind. We visited this afternoon—though the morning was cloudy, it turned sunny and pleasant later, making it perfect for spending time on the beach. Clean white sand, calm vibes, and a great spot to just sit back and enjoy the view. Overall, a nice beach experience.
