Holiday Inn Express & Suites Charlotte Southeast - Matthews by IHG

This was a solid HIE. Rooms were clean and average. I did enjoy the lobby coffee maker. When we arrived, they had an empty cookie area which looked like it was tasty. Breakfast was fine. It was a close drive to many food options and walkable to Cracker Barrel.

I would like to say that Ms Betty and the entire staff there were very welcoming to me. From Sat March 22nd to Sat March 29th. I flew down from NY to attend a family Funeral. I enjoyed each day I was there. The Breakfast choices were pretty good in having some healthy choices. Also the Fitness room I liked in using the treadmill. Excellent Staff and service. Hopefully if I am back in the Matthews NC area I will be back to stay at that Hotel. Thank You

I’ve stayed at many IHG properties, and unfortunately this was the worst experience I’ve ever had. The front desk staff were not welcoming at all and did not demonstrate the customer service standards I’ve come to expect from IHG. I wasn’t thanked for being an IHG member, and overall the hospitality was extremely disappointing. The issues with the room were even worse. The fridge didn’t work, and I had to use the one in the lobby for my food. Not only was this a major inconvenience, but the staff didn’t offer an apology or any solution. The photos online are definitely misleading — the room looked nothing like what was advertised. It was dirty, had a strong unpleasant odor, and clearly had a poorly done “renovation.” There were patches on the walls, fixtures in the bathroom falling apart,

This is a really good one.! Location, break fast, amenities, quality is good. I preferred staying again. I will give 5 Star rating to Chris, he is an amazing person. He took care of everything without hesitation.!

We spent the evening with my aunt and had a lovely time. Her room was very nice and she was very pleased. There were a few patches, indicating the ceiling and wall had been repaired in various places, but other than that everything was fine. The pool looked clean and inviting. I was tempted to get in, but unfortunately I didn't have my swimsuit. They even serve refreshments in the evening and my aunt said they serve a very nice breakfast.
