Hampton Inn Charlotte/Matthews

This was a good hotel for the price. The furniture in the room had some wear and tear (stains on the chair etc ) but overall it was a fine place for an overnight. The ice machines were empty on both days we stayed except for one location in the building. The breakfast was good on both mornings and there was a very small workout area with a treadmills and bike. The front desk staff was friendly at check in and check in was smooth.

We had adjoining rooms, chairs in both had visible large stains. Temp was much hotter in one room than the other on the same setting. Fan was very loud. Came home from our trip with bumps on our arms that may or may not have been bed bugs. We are loyal Hampton inn customers but this location was terrible

I’m a Hilton Honors member and travel frequently. This was one of the worst hotels if not the worst that I stayed in. Room smelt stale. There were four of us staying in the room and we were given two small towels. I called in the morning requesting more towels so my family could shower and we can head out and continue our travels. No one came, called an hour later they said they would send someone again. No one came, we managed to shower and get ready as best as we could. At 11 as we were heading out maid finally came to give us towels knowing very well it was checkout time. I told her no thanks I asked for towels 2 hours ago and we’re now heading out.

Positive: Breakfast was decent. Staff at breakfast was very nice. Negative: Toilet was broken. Paint peeling. No bed sheets in pullout couch. We had a king bed and a pullout couch for a reservation that said 4 adults. Front desk attendant said about broken toilet and room ?I?m here alone what do you want me to do about it??

The hotel was dirty and some of the wallpaper was falling apart on the 5th floor. The AC didn't work in the dining room. The hotel charges over $5 for parking and does not include this fee in the original quote. There are no pack-and-plays available for babies. The rooms feel dirty. Very disappointed with my stay here. I would feel better if the hotel were to reimburse me for parking. Why is there a fee to park in a parking lot that has many potholes and homeless people walking around? You should be paying your guests to park there or at least improve the parking experience.
