Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bronx - Zoo Area by IHG

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I stayed there for my birthday in October and the service I got was horrible. The room was funky and there were long worms coming up from the bowl when you flush the toilet. The toilet paper holder was broken so the tissue kept falling on the floor constantly. The thick Caucasian lady that works at the front desk on day shift had an attitude like I was getting a free stay and should not have any complaints while spending my money. The breakfast gave me diarrhea because it was not prepared properly. I have stayed at other IHG properties but this by far was the worst. The second room they put me in when they finally felt like doing it had water coming from the bowl after flushing. Please do not waste your money to go here, it is not worth it. Th

The hotel was good overall. It says parking in the hotel details but that is NOT true. We circled the block for a long time then ended up having to park a couple of blocks away then walk to the room. If you have parking as an amenity then it should be places to park. The room was clean but the chair in the room had spots on it and the ac kept turning off at night. The bed was pretty comfy and housekeeping was very nice. They didn’t clean the room the next day. Breakfast was ok

Positive: The fact that they have breakfast available Negative: Yes! The fact that the house keeper walked in on me fresh out the shower without knocking stated we should have checked out. That was false we had another day. Plus no one cleaned our room our entire 3 day stay. We asked daily.

My heater was blowing cool are, and I was waking up to my room being 60 degrees in the middle of a brutal NYC winter. I complained for 3 days, the staff kept saying nothing was wrong with my thermostat. One day I woke up the thermostat read 52 degrees and I hardly wanted to get out of the comfort of the blankets in bed. I asked someone from the front desk to come feel my room as proof. She went to my window (which I hadn’t went near since I arrived) and it was opened because the cleaning lady forgot to close it after “airing it out.” Why would someone need to air a room out in 10 degree weather I have no clue. Honest review of my trip Front desk staff does not care about their jobs and are rude especially when i asked for assistance with changing my room and was given the run around. bright side of this hotel is that its right across the street from the hospital in case i choke on all the dust and debris that was in my room like literally there were crumbs on my bed. Apparently they were too booked to give me a different room despite the fact my entire trip i only saw 1 other person in the hotel. The Wifi doesnt work at all and their cable only has 5 channels so that was fun. 😒 Breakfast terrible and was cooked inside of a closet….Sausage had no color and looked microwaved.
