Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bay City by IHG

When I first arrived there were 2 people checking in, in front of me. The front desk lady made sure our time was a priority and she got all 3 of us checked in under 5 minutes. When I first opened my room everything was clean and no complaints at night with any noise. Breakfast in the morning starts at 5:30 which is perfect because work starts early in the morning. Everything the cook made was top quality and filled me up.

I stayed at Holiday Inn Express Bay City from 2/8–2/13 while in town for work, and unfortunately my experience was very concerning. One evening when I returned from work, I found the door to my room not only unlocked but propped open. Housekeeping had clearly failed to ensure the door was fully closed and secured after servicing the room. As a solo business traveler, this was extremely unsettling. What was even more troubling was the front desk’s response. When I reported the issue, the clerk’s reaction felt dismissive and oddly familiar with the exact scenario, which left me with the impression that this may not have been an isolated incident. Subject: Urgent Complaint – Unprofessional Service and Mishandled Reservation Dear IHG Guest Relations, I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding an extremely disappointing experience I had at your holiday INn express bay city tx on 11/11/2025 at around 7:16 when I booked to around 8pm when I arrived Earlier today, I called the hotel directly to confirm room availability for tonight. The agent I spoke with insisted that rooms were selling out quickly and required a credit card to hold my reservation. I just spent a couple of days on a business trip here. It's new, the rooms are big, the staff is friendly and the manager is on top of it. The free breakfast had several entree choices and was fresh and hot. The bed was really comfortable. The TV was big enough--not the 32" bargain TV you find in some hotel rooms. This is a nice place in a nice little town. I'd definitely stay here again.

We chose the Holiday Inn because we have used them before and have always enjoyed our stay with them. This one wasn't any different! Esteban was very cordial and helpful when we checked in. Local eateries are close, the rooms were clean, it was quiet, the beds were comfortable, and we all had a good night sleep! Well use them again if we're in the area!!!
