Candlewood Suites Bay City, an IHG Hotel

This hotel is clean, which meets my standards. We spent two weeks there due to work. Everything in the room was functional. The shower could offer a better water pressure. The housekeeping service is outstanding, they don't only do the towel swapping like most hotels we have stayed; they go all the way from surface cleaning to mopping the floors. Even vacuum the suite if you have your pet accompanying you ;-) Good parking spots. The outdoor area is comfortable with grills and nice seating. No pool. The commercial/retail/groceries neighborhood is a short drive or a long walk distance. The pet area has a good space and it is clean. The entire staff we encountered were resourceful, kind and professional.

I was a guest for nearly 3 months; I could write a short story about my stay, but I will try not to. I will start with the pros: Very nice bed and pillows, excellent coffee and ice machine, roomy one bedroom suite with nice chairs, pleasant (non-management) staff. Now with the cons: Amanda, Steven, and Stacy (management staff) They were rude and very inhospitable. Also, they did not try to make the hotel a nice place for guests. The common areas were filthy most of the time, having only one broken, dirty grill to use, when at full occupancy. I heard many guests say they would not use it at all. It would be so easy to spray off the area every morning, the water spigot is right beside the gazebos. They don't mow the grass, but they weed eat it now and then. Terrible place for dogs to

Very bad experience. We booked the room from IHG app but the front desk could not find it. It is okay we understand that happens. However the front desk did nothing but asked us to call customer service, twice! The reps form IHG called twice to the desk but still nothing happened. We eventually end up wasted three hours with them and ruined our day to the beach. Finally we got a room from Fairfield a few minutes away with is very good. Please stay away this candlewood if you want a happy vacation trip. W

I am definitely satisfied with the maids, receptionist and on-site maintenance. I know that while I stayed there the elevator went down which was not their fault and the power went out because of storms on two separate occasions. The staff did a wonderful job at mitigating potential problems because of the rain, slippery floors, and insufficient lighting during the outage. Overall the rooms I stayed in were clean and well maintenance. Great staff good property excellent service.

I had a great stay here! The GM was very friendly and genuine. The rooms were comfortable and the cleanliness was unmatched.
