Hampton Inn & Suites Bay City

Great hotel right off the main street going thru Bay City. The staff was so sweet and accommodating. There was free breakfast and they offered treats to my little dog. Would definitely stay again if im ever in the area! This hotel was, also, a short 20 min drive to Matagora Beach!

My first room had dead bugs on the windowsill, crumbs on the floor, and broken air conditioning. I opted to spend night with my sister. The next day with 1 hour to get ready for wedding I enquired about my room situation. I was told the room was cleaned, ac fixed and its perfect. I went in and the ac was still not working (the hotel experienced a long power outage with apparently no generator) and was told that's why room wasn't cold. My sisters room next door was cold. The crumbs were still on the floor. The only thing different was the bugs were now gone. I went back to desk to report these findings only for the desk person to go investigate because they didn't believe me. After about 20 minutes I was finally given the room I should have been given in the first place. For my inconvenie

UPDATE 1.20.2026. AT&T has installed a new WIFI system in this location. Well done folks. So much better. No working WIFI for weeks now. I also hear multiple rooms on hold due to broken equipment. Everything else it is a standard hotel for work weeks. You all can do better.

I stayed here for one night on Friday Dec 26 for a daytrip to Matagorda Bay. This was my first time staying here, and I wanted to like the place, but it also fell short on fundamentals. HILTON GOLD: This may not mean a lot since there was no courtesy room upgrade and I didn't need to do any early check-in or late check-out, but they asked if I wanted water or some snacks at time of check-in. The little things count. PET POLICY: The whole reason why I chose this hotel, and not the dozen other choices that were cheaper, was they allowed pets with a $50 pet fee. I was happy to see that I wasn't the only dog owner; there were several other couples who brought their dogs.
