Holiday Inn Express & Suites Bay City by IHG

We stayed here for my son’s hockey tournament. While the room itself was clean and comfortable, the service and lack of compassion were extremely disappointing. I booked this hotel specifically for a connecting room for our family of five (including 2 year old twins). I called ahead and was reassured multiple times that a connecting room would be available and was even guided on how to book correctly through Expedia. At check-in, we were told one of the rooms was still occupied and that no connecting rooms were available. only to later be offered one after pushing back, which made the situation frustrating and confusing. We reserved two nights but had to leave after the first due to a medical emergency involving our 5 year old (epilepsy). On medical advice, we were guided to get him to D

Positive: I overall enjoy the hotel and the staff. The rooms are always clean and I really enjoy staying at this hotel except for this time. Negative: I had a horrible night at this hotel due to the bed being very uncomfortable. I literally can feel the coils poking me. I slept really bad so it caused me to have a bad day the next morning. They need to replace their beds when it’s time.

My partner and I stayed here this past weekend. We enjoyed our stay. The bed was comfy, and we enjoyed having breakfast in the hotel and not having to find somewhere else to eat. I also loved how close it was to i75 to make it easier to venture to places like Frankenmuth and Saginaw The only two things I was not fond of was the our room was not cleaned the day we had our cards not inserted in the door ( which may have been our fault so we are not upset at all), and the face that the pool was freezing cold. All in all we enjoyed our stay and the next time we are in the bay city/ east side of Michigan, we will definitely be staying here.

We recently stayed one night to be close to a soccer tournament in Midland. Booked a king suite for two nights initially, through the IHG app. Ended up only needing one night, and the app wouldn’t let me modify the reservation. I called the hotel and they were able to change the reservation to one night without issue. The hotel was clean and accommodating. There’s a large lobby area where we did a team pizza dinner. The kids also loved the computers in the lobby, and the pool. Our room was clean. Bed and pillows were comfy. Also used the pullout for one of my kids, and it was clean and there was bedding provided in the large wardrobe in the room. Our room had a little counter area with coffee maker, microwave, and mini fridge (with a mini freezer, which was helpful for our cooler’s i

The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast, bountiful. I waited in line for 45 minutes to check in. This was the loudest hotel I’ve ever stayed in; the staff lied about enforcing rules to a mass of unsupervised children running around at 10pm. Not sure if it was the children themselves or the building materials, but my walls were shaking for 90 minutes while they played in the hallway, waking my daughter up. 3 stars because I booked this hotel as a place for us to simply sleep and it did not deliver.
