Holiday Inn Express & Suites Augusta West - Fort Gordon by IHG

I recently stayed at Holiday Inn Augusta Ft. Gordon and unfortunately the experience didn’t quite meet expectations. The location is convenient if you’re visiting the base, but that’s probably the biggest highlight. The room was decent at first glance, but it didn’t feel as clean or updated as I’d hoped. There were small maintenance issues that made the stay less comfortable than it should have been. The walls also seemed pretty thin — noise from the hallway and neighboring rooms carried more than expected, which made it hard to fully relax. The staff was polite, but service felt a bit inconsistent. Nothing terrible, just not the level of hospitality you’d expect for the price point. Breakfast was okay, but options were limited and didn’t always seem fresh. Overall, it wasn’t a horrible

Positive: The clerk that checked us in was very nice and helpful. When we got up to our room the door would not lock when we tried to leave and the phone did not work. I called down on my cell and he was so helpful he came right up and switched us to another room. Negative: ""

I'm disabled and reserved an ADA room with a Roll-in shower, which would have had a bench seat. I got a walk in shower with no shower seat. My room was on the 4th floor. I would not be able to use the stairs in an emergency. Only one elevator works. There is NO coffee in the Lobby even though there are signs that say otherwise. The Black Out shade did not work, in fact it looked like a fire hazard. The baseboard was disenegrating, it looks like carpet that has gotten wet a lot.

Pretty decent spot to stay while in town. Most of the hotel seems recently renovated. The room was quite spacious and well equipped though a couple of the finer details left something to be desired. The pillows were absolutely terrible, I had trouble finding a comfortable combination with only two options of thin and soft or thin and firm. Also, while most everything in the room was newer, the electrical switches and outlets looked very old and grungy. A small detail that probably would have went a long way to improve the look and feel of the room had they replaced them. The provided breakfast was decent enough. Your typical yogurt, cereal, and juice options as well as a rotating daily selection of hot items. There was also a pancake station that I didn't use. I did like the machine that

The desk staff remembered us from our last visit which was very welcoming - their service is 10 stars! Bed was very comfortable and the pull out sofa seemed basically brand new. The heat in our room worked very well and did not have that burnt smell that some hotels have. Very clean and a lot larger than your typical hotel room. Also the breakfast gauva passion fruit juice and coffee was fantastic!
