Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ashtabula-Geneva by IHG

I stayed here while up here for work and it was an amazing experience. My hotel room was like a mini apartment and was so nice. Also there's a pool and the hotel offers breakfast everyday which is different everyday too. Overall I had a good experience hopefully they set it for here again!

I ONLY stay at Holiday Inn Express hotels, I know what I will most likely get for cleanliness and rooms. I want to thank the front desk clerk for his congeniality and for making me feel valued as a Diamond Elite member. Since I stay in dozens of rooms per year, I get quick to judge based on recent stays at similar hotels. I would kindly suggest that you replace floor mats that have edges degraded and look like your first impressions do not matter. The elevator mat could be replaced as well, they are a cheap fix and when you have chunks missing from the edges, it does not present well. The room was satisfactory, had no issues, it was clean. Very nice place to stay. It is near the interstate so easy on and off. This was important to us. |Small refrigerator with no freezer. Plenty of towels. 120v outlets good. Lighting was good but switches were not obvious. |They told us to park our motorcycles in front near the main entrance.

Had to stop on my way to Toledo bevause I made the bright decision not to check the weather before I left to visit a friend. Visibility at 11 pm was basically zilch - I was able to stay on track thanks to a truck with its flashers on in front of me. This hotel was decently priced and offered a free breakfast (I use an IHG rewards Mastercard so tend to stick with their brand of hotel). Room was clean, breakfast was good, and staff were very friendly. The part that drove me to review was the fact that a WONDERFUL hotel worker named Jason came in on his day off and was scraping off cars and shoveling around them. I stay at a lot of IHG hotels (Gold Elite Status) and this one is exceptional! The desk staff and manager was amazing, rooms were super clean and nicely renovated, and I loved all of the little extras they offer. The location off of the highway was convenient and the price was fabulous. I highly recommend.
