Holiday Inn Express Hershey (Harrisburg Area) by IHG

This was for a work trip, and corporate booked the property for us. As other reviewers have stated, the walls and doors are paper thin, the property is close to a train track, and appears to be a popular option for families with young children and sports teams. During our stay the hotel was full with what appeared to be a youth hockey team— it would have been nice if the parents had at least some consideration for other guests, as the children were running down the halls until midnight and then started up again about 5:30 AM. Thankfully, we had read the reviews prior to arrival and brought a white noise machine to mitigate some of the noise. Stayed recently for a youth hockey tournament. While our team specifically booked “Top Floor” while booking we were all given rooms on the first floor. The first floor rooms are extremely close to the lobby and pool, making them very loud at times. Most of the staff we encountered was very friendly and helpful. Some were visibly annoyed by the amount of hockey teams saying with them that weekend, and with the guests tracking snow through the lobby. There seems to be some room renovations going on, our room didn’t have a smoke detector, just wires sticking out of the wall. I did report this and one was installed quickly. Another team members heating/ac unit wasn’t working and was told to use the thermostat on the wall, they couldn’t locate one and asked at the desk again how to find it.

Great location back off the road making it quiet. Night time front desk employees are friendly and very efficient. My daughter has stayed here several times as she was having procedures done at Hershey. John Watts, the General Manager, made sure that he accommodated us so that her trip here was less stressless. I'm sure we will be staying here again. Clean rooms and accommodating employees.

This is a great little hotel tucked away just around the bend from all the busyness of Hershey. Everything is closeby, including lots of dining options. While it is an Express, the quality is top notch. This hotel has free breakfast, a small game room, a pool, laundry options, a small business center, and just an overall clean feeling (and that's super important!|Most notable though is the staff. They are all super kind and accommodating and I need to give an extra-special shoutout to Emma. She helped us out with an early check-in AND set up our room with some special features for my son who was celebrating his birthday. Positive: It was the complimentary breakfast, which was surprisingly good. Negative: We stayed in a room on the first floor. The room had bed bugs, which is absolutely unacceptable and made our stay very uncomfortable. On top of that, the room was freezing cold, and we couldn’t adjust the temperature, which made it hard to sleep.
