Holiday Inn Express Columbia NE - Fort Jackson by IHG

So the room was ok when we first enter. Shower door does not close properly. But was clean. Checked in got a gift bag, which was nice. Not happy we had to pay additional 75 once we got there not mentioned when booking. Then about an hour or so after we checked in the front desk called room, why would you do that? I mean the reason for hotel is to sleep. So why call and wake us? Then about 15 min later the fire alarm was going off. Again waking us. Go to desk to find no actual emergency. So not sure if a kid or someone pulled alarm or what but it was going off for 10 min. Finally got it shut off. Then for the next two hours someone was slamming doors and yelling in hall. Finally stopped. Once again tried to sleep and then there were people out in parking lot yelling and bring extremely loud

We were traveling back home and stopped there for the night. The lobby air conditioning was not working. The hallway floors were dirty. The room was dimly lit. The air conditioner in the room was very loud and made it difficult to sleep. The toilet was leaking and discovered it in the morning. I would not stay there again.

Positive: The staff were very sweet and accommodating. Negative: I did not like that the room i initially was given had a Roach waiting for us at the door, the second room the chair was broke. The hotel should be way better given the area.

KD was so great to work with. She is well spoken and knowledgeable. The hotel is noisy, a lot of late night door slamming and loud people. Very restless night. Breakfast was good.

If you're traveling to Columbia, SC, I usually go twice a year to visit my sisters. On this particular trip, I traveled over eight hours from Dover, Delaware, to Columbia, South Carolina, feeling exhausted. I called the hotel to ask if my room would be available before 3 PM, and I received excellent customer service from Andrena Williams. When she answered the phone, she was very pleasant and reassuring, telling me my room would be ready early. When I arrived at the hotel, exhausted from the trip, Andrena already had my keys pulled and ready for me to go to my room. The customer service at this hotel was outstanding, from the housekeepers to the food service staff. This was an amazing trip at a fantastic hotel.
