Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Lake Geneva Resort, an IHG Hotel

My wife and I just returned from a 4-day, Thursday through Monday stay at Lake Geneva Resort (LGR) . We have stayed at LGR on numerous occasions and are always so impressed by the resort's overall quality and by the Holiday Inn Club Vactions management at the resort. ||LGR is a first-class resort in every sense of that term. To begin, the resort's setting in the town of Lake Geneva is spectacular in its beauty. The resort allows for tremendous ease of access and the beautiful roadways as you drive up to the resort provide for a great pre-vacation experience.||Accomodations: Superb in every detail. My wife and I always stay in a Deluxe One-Bedroom and it is an nice of a unit as we have encountered when staying at Gold Crown resorts for 27 years.||Facilities: Simply remarkable. This

We travel from Plainfield Illinois to get away for a weekend. It's very quiet and laid back. They have a nice little club in the main building and a HUGE mountain to ski (or fall in my case) down. There's time when they made their own snow. One day we'll try that out. They also have a restaurant and lounge area in main building with a beautiful view of the landscape. They have a lot to offer, just whats your fancy.

Room was wonderful for what we needed, the separate bedroom was amazing with two children. The full kitchen helped with the ability to make breakfast too! The walls are incredibly thin so you can hear everybody in every room surrounding you. However, I have to give a shout out to Sandra at Grand Geneva. She was incredible and made our experience wonderful throughout the check-in and checkout process and explaining of the amenities on property.

Positive: Multiple rooms, kitchenette, laundry in room, Had I known, I would have packed differently, brought food, coffee, creamer, less clothes Negative: the listing for this did not specify that this had a kitchenette, nor laundry. Towels were not replenished, I had to wash. Coffee not stocked, I should have brought my own to use in their pot.

This resort was difficult to work with. No one from Holiday Inn was on-site and the rooms are run by the Grand Geneva Resort. They don't really seem to care about the Holiday Inn side and have no access to their system. Booking the room was easy but check in was difficult. My friend has an account with them and we booked with their account, adding me as the person staying on site. This did not "transfer over" to the Grand Geneva system and therefore we spent 30 - 40 minutes working on getting checked in. They did not inform us that we would be in a handicap room with no tub (we had our children with us during the checkin) and the room was not stocked with soaps and toilet paper when we arrived.
