Eleven Gables Inn and Cottage on Lake Geneva

We spent 2 nights here over the 4th of July, when Lake Geneva is a madhouse. Eleven Gables was quiet and just a couple of blocks from all the hordes of tourists, sooo convenient for walking to the downtown and the Lake Shore path. We were able to park the car and not worry about finding parking downtown. We stayed in the Cottage out back of the main house with our dog, very pet friendly place. Lots of area to take the pup out. The inside of the Cottage was very quaint, like stepping back in time. Everything was very clean, comfortable bed, fantastic shower and water pressure, good wifi, we had no complaints. I stayed at “The Library” and as advertised on the website “has the best view of the lake and it’s own veranda with table and swing. Facing the west with great sunsets and lake breezes”. Location is perfect with 10 min walk downtown. This place has a lot of 1800’s charm and with its age unfortunately comes a lot of wear and tear.

We stayed in the courtyard room and had a lovely time. The room is unique and cozy and having a private entrance made it feel extra sweet! The inn was very quiet during Memorial Day weekend which was a welcome surprise for us. Being so close to the water and short walking distance from everything downtown, the price for our stay felt like a steal. Gary, the host, is extremely friendly and had a lot of great recommendations. Thank you for preserving such a wonderful historical building! We will be back!

If you want to de-stress, I highly recommend. Nice and quiet with perfect view of the lake. Great place for relaxing. Service is amazing. And room was cozy with privet patio where you can find serenity and peace as you watch the lake and sip the wine.

Amazing location, walkable to all the restaurants, comfy bed and a private pier for our dog to swim in. It’s one of our favorite getaways from the city and our dogs favorite place on earth! Gary is a great host with easy check-in/outs
