Historic Delaware Hotel

We had a wonderful stay at the Historic Delaware Hotel. The renovations are excellent, thoughtfully done and true to the building’s character. The bar and lobby are especially beautiful, striking a perfect balance between historic charm and modern comfort. Our room was period-maintained and full of character, which made the experience feel special and authentic rather than generic. What truly set this stay apart was the service. Everyone went above and beyond to be welcoming and helpful, and it genuinely felt like they cared about making our visit memorable. Sadly we were expecting a historic hotel and were disappointed to see that the reception and bar have been removed and replaced with a modern design. The upper floors are still historic and the room, though small was perfectly acceptable and a good value. There is an excellent ghost walk which meets at the hotel, not to be missed.The restaurant was very good

We had a wonderful stay at the Historic Delaware Hotel in Leadville, and it exceeded our expectations. Jill checked us in and immediately made us feel welcome, taking the time to share the hotel’s incredibly rich history. Her knowledge and enthusiasm really set the tone for our stay. We also dined at Mineral, the restaurant inside the hotel, where Matthew was our server. He was attentive, friendly, and quick to answer our questions about both the hotel and its history. You can truly tell that the staff take pride in where they work, which makes the experience even more special. This historic hotel is a very nicely remodeled step into the past. The room we booked was beautifully remodeled and so were the common areas. They have an in house restaurant and bar with a very comfortable lounge in between. We mainly chose to spend our dinners in the lounge because of the laid back setting and high class ambiance. You can order the restaurants food from the bar along with your drinks to enjoy in the lounge area that has two levels and ample space. The bartender Amanda took great care of us and had a wonderfully crafted Christmas cocktail menu on top of normal specials. A step back in time! The decor is amazing, as is the lounge/bar area and restaurant inside. Coffee is available at 5am for all your morning adventures. If you’re a light sleeper I’d bring ear plugs. Given the age of the hotel you can hear the creeks and steps of those moving around in the upper floor. It didn’t bother me much.
