Customer Reviews
Great off-the-beaten-path campground! Only basic facilities of bathrooms, no sink, but each site is well maintained with picnic table and fire pit. Quiet area with direct access to Turquoise Lake and hiking trails. Great space for September with plenty of spaces. Recommend reserving.
Very scenic, quiet, and well-maintained campground. It was worth staying on the west side of Turquoise Lake to be farther from the crowds, and a lot of these sites are larger, more level, and more spread out than at the other campgrounds in this RA. This campground is a quick <5 minute drive to the Timberline Lake Trailhead, which was a moderately strenuous hike to a gorgeous alpine lake! You can also access the Turquoise Lake Trail right from the east end of this campground. We had site number 3, which was farther from the lake but very secluded and scenic. It is a walk in site (about 100 feet). Previous reviews of this site mentioned there not being a large or level enough tent pad, but it looks like the site was expanded ahead of the 2025 season and there was more than enough space for
Beautiful campground near a beautiful lake. We enjoyed the hiking trail – mostly flat with a few small inclines. Led up to a beautiful babbling Brook coming down from the mountain. Just spectacular!
Gorgeous! On the shores of Turquoise Lake, the May Queen Campground provides a picturesque setting for camping and outdoor activities. With its proximity to the lake and access to hiking trails, it's a perfect spot for nature lovers.
Small campground by Turquoise Lake. Some pull through spots, some back-in. It has a bathroom on either end, they were kept clean. The camp host was extremely nice and knowledgeable of the area. The lake is low with the current drought, and it was pretty hot for mid June. Camp sites 8 & 10 have no tree shade. Loved hearing the river at night and it's a quiet campground. Amazing views and hikes, great fishing! This is a great spot, highly recommend it.
