Historic Broadlind Hotel at Long Beach Convention Center

I stayed at the Historic Broadlind Hotel and checked out in June 2025. That should’ve been the end of it—but it turned into a nightmare.||During my stay:| • The bathroom was covered in filthy black sewage splatter from a plumbing failure (I have photos).| • There were roaches in the room—also documented.| • Management was unhelpful, dismissive, and refused responsibility for my damaged belongings.| • I was told “we’re not responsible for personal items” and offered a vague room transfer after the damage occurred.||After my stay:| • I received over 50 emails pressuring me to update my credit card for a deposit that was never owed.| • They attempted to charge my account multiple times, forcing me to call my bank and block them.| • Even after acknowledging it was a “system error”—they kept co

We booked the Broad Lind months in advance for a one night stay before a cruise. What a mistake we made. Our arrival was slightly disappointing from the pics. The building appears a little more run down than the pics. Then we spent 20 mins trying to get inside the building. You have to get a code to enter and the instructions posted outside aren’t helpful. There’s nobody on duty at this hotel and our reservation number wasn’t matching up. There’s a phone number to call for help…..but no answer. We finally got inside and by the way…..no elevator. So be prepared to carry your bags up steep stairs. A maintenance guy (never figured who he was) kind of pointed us in the direction of the checkin area. I recently stayed here and unlike majority hotels this place has no lobby. I purchased my room and 2 night stay and payed around $600 and when I got to location I had to not only do all of my check in from a QR code link but pay an additional $240 for parking. Room was a studio size, bathroom was small, shower head had calcium buildup on it.

We had a wonderful stay! I read reviews after I booked our room. So happy we weren’t scared off. Not sure what went on in summer of 2025, but in January of 2026, everything exceeded our expectations. We had zero problems accessing our room and not having a concierge wasn’t a problem (I had some anxiety about it before hand). The place was also super clean! They have a team of housekeepers hard at work. We loved the historic charm of the building, the fact that our little studio included a full kitchen and the location. There’s a nightclub in the basement. We didn’t hear anything on a Saturday night in room 206. I'm leaving a one star for several reasons. NEVER NEVER NEVER again will we stay in that place. First, there is no one to talk to from the beginning to the end. It is all by emails. This place is cold, and I'm not talking temperature cold, I'm talking, like train station, or jail cold. There is no soul, nothing in it is calling you back for wanting to make another reservation. When we arrived, we didn't have a code..... Yes, you need a gate code to get in the parking lot, so if you didn't received one, your car or truck or van is gonna block the sidewalk, and a good portion of the street behind you, hence blocking traffic, or getting the chance of getting hit.
