Its an impressive physical property (a former bank) and my room was enormous. No complaints about the staff, who were pleasant and helpful. its located a block and a half from the arch/courthouse right downtown.||but the room itself needs a serious upgrade. toilet, shower--all worn. the blanket had a thin sheet/duvet on it that barely stayed on. the heat (very necessary) was effective but made a racket whenever it was on, turned it off to sleep.||and i wasnt wild about paying $40/night to park my car in a freezing cold, dark and unattended parking garage across the street (that you must pay the hotel to use, because otherwise you get locked out at 8pm for the night).
Beautiful historic property conveniently located to restaurants, attractions (see pics) and parking options. Impressive lobby area with self check out snack options. Very friendly staff. Soaring ceiling heights in the rooms. Very comfortable bed. Older property could use some touching up in the baths (caulking, grout). Loved the soft lighting option in the bathroom. The HVAC has a particular sequence to the buttons but it worked perfectly. Tv proportionate to room size. Generous fridge size. Coffee service in the lobby would be a nice touch. Overall great value, would definitely return.
Positive: Rooms were quiet and area around the hotel was quiet. Room was spacious. Negative: one of the beds in our room did not have a comforter and only sheets so the first night was really cold.
One of my favorite St. Louis hotels. The menu is limited, but they do everything really well. The bartenders are well versed in classic cocktails.... Well, except for margaritas. Big fail on the margaritas.
We walked into a room the smelled of spilt bleach. The tub was not clean. The shower was covered in hair on the wall from a prior guest. The body wash bottle was empty. The coffee supplies had not been restocked. We ordered in room dinner with a beer that required a bottle opener and they did not have a bottle opener. We ordered breakfast at 7:15 am and it took an hour to arrive and only then because we called down to ask about it. It was cold and ridiculously bad for the price tag. That said, the bed was comfortable. The size and layout of the room was nice. The street noise is LOUD. The valet drivers beep car alarms to locate vehicles in the parking garage across the street and the rev of engines is a lot.
