Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh University Place

Refrigerator did not work. Maintenance came to my room within 5 minutes and replaced it with Excellent service. Vallet, service desk, bartender/waiter were all friendly and ready to go above and beyond . Room clean and comfortable. Vallet is 35 a night. Breakfast bar was 17. Food looked great. Hotel overall was very clean. Excellent review. Booked on line at super.com for a great rate.

We were a bit concerned when we booked this hotel it may be a bit out of the way, but being close to Pitt Uni it was good for cafes and bars for breakfast and evening meal. When we worked out the buses it was a short hop to Downtown as well. We found the staff to be super friendly (a Pittsburgh trait), and helpful. There were a few issues in the room where a tiny bit of maintenance was required. The amenities in the room were excelllent,

Writing this review on behalf of my husband who is traveling back to back for interviews. My husband stayed here the past two nights for a series of important interviews, and the experience was not a good one, especially with one specific employee. While the hotel eventually provided a 50% refund after we involved Hilton corporate, the actual experience was a safety and professional disaster. The elevator was malfunctioning and he couldn't get in (same thing happened yesterday), so my husband took the stairs to leave this early morning to catch a 5am flight. The staircase locked him into an employee parking garage that required a password to exit. He was trapped. When he called the front desk for help, the agent hung up on him while he was still stuck. I spent 5 days here. Every single person that worked the front desk, there are several because they're college students.. the girl that works the bar in the evening was awesome. Wings were excellent. Had a great time while I was there. Thank all of you. This is the guy that had the 20-year-old dog, LOL
