Hilton Garden Inn Louisville Mall of St. Matthews

We were traveling from Utah to West Virginia and stopped in Louisville for the night. I’ve stayed at many Hilton properties before, so I didn’t think I needed to research this one, that was probably my mistake. Breakfast is not included and costs $16 per person, which felt steep. The front desk staff wasn’t rude, but they also weren’t particularly welcoming or warm. We purchased four bottles of water for $18.87, which felt excessive. Ice cream and a soda for $8.49 seemed more reasonable in comparison. If you’re arriving with luggage and a busy toddler, be prepared to bag and carry your own items, there wasn’t much assistance offered. We also tried the hotel restaurant. We weren’t expecting anything fancy, but it was underwhelming. It did the job, and we left full, but it definitely didn’

Location is good. Atmosphere is poor. Rooms are average. Value is below average. Cleanliness is average. Noise level is very poor. Service- cook drinking booze while cooking breakfast. I am a Hilton honors member for years. I will never be back to this property. I’ve come to expect more out of Hilton. Neither elevator functions properly. For example, car 1 accesses all levels, but is unable to access level one on a trip down due to a faulty floor 1 call button. Car 2 doesn’t go down from the fifth floor due to a faulty call button. The black out curtain in my room is broken. Staff was notified via chat. I received no response. 14 dollar breakfast for overcooked eggs, frozen potatoes, and nearly raw bacon.

The staff here are amazing! Jason, the assistant manager was so kind and understanding, when we needed to switch rooms. The rooms are clean and roomy, and it's in a very convenient area. I would highly recommend staying here.

Jared is such a wonderful host/front desk agent. He went above and beyond making recommendations for activities and restaurants as well as making sure I got my all too important coffee! The room was nice and clean and the pool was warm and operational. The location is excellent and you’re less than 1 minute from a huge assortment of things to do! Highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area.

Positive: The front desk personnel was courteous and welcoming. The room was clean and modern. Negative: I wish the pool area could be open all the time. It would be really cool and relaxing to also have a hot tub. If you had a hot tub, I would specifically choose your hotel over others. We look for comfort and relaxation at hotels and that would sell us.
