Hillman's Cottages

The cabins are very comfortable !! I slept like a baby. The location is very quiet, and feels tucked away, but you are only a short walk away from Lake Colby, and only a 10 min drive from downtown Saranac Lake shopping, dining, and other activities. Well worth it !!

The price of the cabin is reasonable. My kids even loves it as well. I try 2 rent a cabin once a month. It's clean,friendly people and and it's close too a lot of restaurant and shopping areas. The owns are such sweethearts and friendly. They would do anything to make your stay comfortable. Overall I will continue too rent a cabin from them as long as my husband is in Lake Saranac.|| Thank You for everything ||ShaVonne

This is our favorite place in Saranac Lake when we come up to visit our daughter at Paul Smiths College. The cabins are imaculate and comfortable. You feel as if you are staying at an old friend's place in the country. It's just a short walk to beautiful Lake Colby where there is a swimming area in season and a boat launch as well. It's also close drive to the center of town and far enough away so you are in a quiet spot in the woods. On a clear night the star gazing is amazing just outside the cabin door. Miriam, the owner at Hillmans is very accommodating and friendly. I highly reccomend Hillmans Cottages and I'm looking forward to my next trip up there.

Stayed here last year while in town for an event, and it was decent enough. My review from that visit has only changed somewhat, in that the cabins have aged a bit more, as have I. Maybe I was cranky this trip, maybe the place did seem...different. But I didn't like staying here as well as I did last year. ||||Miriam, one of the owners, is great. She's friendly and helpful. The place is easy enough to find. Hot water is plentiful. Fans were provided. But here is what I didn't love: ||The beds remain not comfy. I get the sense the mattresses are getting old, and only one pillow is provided per guest, and ours were rather flat. If you like to sleep on more than one [flat] pillow, bring your own. Here you will receive a warm welcome from the owners Miriam & Mike. They have accomodations to fit your need and budget. Their warm hospitality and convienience to local attractions will have you wanting to return. Their cabins are nestled quietly in among cedar trees offering shaded privacy for that quiet get-a-way. Their cabins are fully furnished, and some have fully equipped kitchens. The only two things I noticed they didn't have were phones & wireless internet signal, but it was nice to escape contacts from the outter world, it forced me to concentrate on the beauty of the area and enjoy the peace & quiet. For those who "must" have contact, there is always cellphones, and there is an internet cafe just a short drive into the downtown area that had free wireless internet access to fil
