Hampton Inn & Suites Hammond

​I usually rely on Hampton Inn for a consistent and comfortable experience, but this stay was a major disappointment from start to finish. For the price and the brand reputation, the level of service and room maintenance was unacceptable. ​ ​As a Hilton Honors Gold member, I am accustomed to receiving bottled water upon arrival. This was not offered or provided, which was a poor start to the experience. ​ The TV remote in our room was completely non-functional. Despite reporting it, no one ever came to fix it or check on the issue. ​ The shower had no water. It took us over 30 minutes to get a staff member to our room to address this, and that was only after I had to physically go down to the lobby because phone requests were ignored. ​ The breakfast was very poor and significantly below t

Positive: Staff was friendly and professional. Negative: There was a lamp that didn't work, the room temperature wasn't easy to adjust, the pillows were too soft, there weren't specific wi-fi instructions so I had to call the front desk to get those details including the password.

Very clean, was in town for a comedy show at the Local casino. The night clerk young lady was extremely polite. I requested to see the room prior to checking in, she escorted me to the room and we both checked it and found it exceptional. When booking, I requested extra pillows, although they were not in the room, she quickly brought some up. The bed was extremely comfortable. This hotel truly takes pride in themselves. What impressed me the most is we checked out around 5am prior to breakfast which started at 6a. At the front desk there were bags all lined up neatly and folded with a sticker that read: fuel for your day. This Hampton renewed my faith in the chain (see my review for the on in Battle Creed MI). This had all you expect at a Hampton plus the outgoing wonderful attitude of all the from desk employees. Only reason i was hesitant about the 5 star was because the breakfast items were still being for about a half hour after the start of breakfast. Don't take a chance of loosing the front desk people.....they deserve a raise on all shifts. Rooms very clean and beds comfortable.

Dear Hilton, please give the front desk agent, Maurice, a very big THANK YOU!!!! Maurice greeted me after a long drive with a big smile and rolled out the red carpet for me. He was so pleasant and helpful!!! We need more Hilton staff like Maurice!!!
