Hampton Inn & Suites Columbia/Southeast-Ft. Jackson

We had an excellent stay! We spent four nights and the staff were absolutely incredible. The desk staff provided some great insights into the area and even helped with finding nearby stores, the PM gentleman was also so kind on our return every day from our hikes! The housekeeper on floor 5 was such a wonderful woman, I wish I would have gotten her name. She was on the 501-515 section this weekend. Breakfast was great, I loved the chives on the eggs! The breakfast area was clean and the attendant was also incredibly kind. The rooms were quiet, but could use a renovation. The studio king suite layout will forever be my favorite though! Overall fairly decent rooms that were satisfactorily clean, with a very comfortable bed. The rooms were the only thing that needed any improvement, you have

I stayed at this establishment on 9/19/25. It was supposed to be a two night stay. Instead, I checked out the next morning. |As I was taking a shower, the steam set the fire alarm off. I jumped out and started getting dressed while wet only to have the hotel call my room to ask if everything was OK. I said no, the alarm is sounding, so I'm getting dressed to get out. She told me it was a false alarm, and it was the steam from the shower that set it off. I found this strange and she explained that it's a regular occurrence. I asked about changing rooms, and she said it could possibly still happen. I let it go and went to bed. Around midnight, it began to flash with no alarm. This lasted about 15 seconds. As a veteran of the United States Marines, who suffers from PTSD, this was NOT good!

Positive: nothing Negative: I did not know that the hotel was a pet friendly hotel, I would have never booked at this hotel! The hotel and my room was directly located overlooking the interstate and the pet odor and the noise from the traffic keep me up all night.

I’m very disappointed to say the least. We’ve stayed here before and always enjoyed our stay, but this time was much different. I don’t know what has changed in management or on the service side, but it went downhill from the last time we’ve stayed. We checked in around 6:00 or so on a Friday night. The first room smelled like stale cigarette smoke and because I’m getting over pneumonia I didn’t want to sleep in there. I went down to the front desk and asked nicely if I could be moved due to the situation. At first the lady said they had no more rooms and were sold out. The guy then offered to look and found another room on the sixth floor. I took my things up there and it did seem better at first. This hotel was very nice, clean and quiet, ect. The location was perfect. It can be hard to find parking. I guess because of what I mentioned above. It's a little bit pricey but worth it. There are so many places and types of food chains and grocery stores in the area. Also, there are parks and libraries near. Many things to do in the area during your stay.
