Hampton Inn Statesville

Very pricey for a severely outdated hotel. We had to switch rooms due to water damage (bubbling wall, falling trim, and an odd smell). The phones didn’t work to reach the front desk when we needed towels. No smart TVs—just basic cable with no guide. The second room’s bathroom floors were dirty with grime and there were hairs on the toilet, though the bed and sheets were clean. Overall, not worth the price and many positive reviews feel misleading. Positives: the front desk woman was a pleasure—very kind—and breakfast was surprisingly really good.

We were heading to Florida and needed a one nights stay. We have stayed in this Motel before. We did not have a reservation this time but decided to stop anyway. BETTY at the front desk is one of the best associates any company could want. If anyone wants someone to teach people how a front desk customer service employee needs to do their job it is Betty, she is the best. She went all the way to help me with our special needs. Thank you Betty! Now, room is clean, Motel is very nice all around and convenient to many restaurants. Absolutely book your room here when need one at Statesville NC.

Check in was easy. Thank you Betty! Room was on the 4th floor which is the top level. Good for noise, but both elevators weren't working in the morning so we had to use the stairs. Needed the exercise I suppose. The room and bathroom was clean. Great water pressure and hot hot water. We did not like the bedspreads on the beds. It was really itchy. The room had a barn style door that goes over the bathroom and the closet. When moved, it made a loud screeching noise. So anyone going to the bathroom during the night made it sound like Freddy Krueger was coming down the hall. It was tough to find a happy set point for the A/C. It was either blowing ice cold or hot like a sauna. Tough to maintain 73 degrees. If we stay in the area again, we will look for another place before returning.

It is a good hotel.

The hotel itself was alright. We checked in after 8 pm and there seemed to be only 1 person working. Our room did not have enough towels and when we went to the front desk, we were given bath mats. Then we saw laundry bins in the dining room filled with towels so we grabbed what we needed for the night. The next morning, there seemed to be more staff, so maybe this was a one-off. The next day, the breakfast looked gross, the dining room was dirty though there seemed to be more staff, only 1 person attending the dining room. The bed was comfortable and there were only about 5 TV channels. The wifi worked. Overall, not what we've come to expect from Hampton.
