Hampton Inn Rome

I stayed at this hotel for a hockey tournament 1/23/26 weekend. Historic Winter storm Fern hit that weekend Sunday 1/25/26 and states of emergency were declared all up and down the East Coast. We were forced to leave and the tournament was cancelled. Only essential vehicles were allowed on the roadways after midnight 1/25/2026. The hotel has refused to refund our stay 1/24/26. No one used that room, no one entered that room and they are refusing to refund our money. We would have stayed but the tournament was cancelled and states of emergency were declared and we all had to head home. This is outrageous that they think they can keep my hard earned money. I have disputed this charge with my credit card. I checked out on the app Saturday. I did a chat they told me a front desk person was not

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. The rooms are dirty, mold in the bathroom with stains everywhere. The staff were consistently rude and unhelpful, making even simple requests feel like an inconvenience. Customer service was clearly not a priority, and the overall atmosphere was unwelcoming. Apparently the TV in the lobby lounge is for the staff to watch their shows while working. I would not stay here until they make serious improvements to their service and staff training.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Rome, NY for my daughter’s cheer competition and was disappointed by the experience. Guests were not given key cards, which made it difficult to access outdoor areas and hotel facilities. When I asked about the inconvenience, the front desk manager, Courtney, was dismissive and unprofessional. She also shared my full name with another guest, which raised privacy concerns. The general manager later apologized, but the situation left us feeling uncomfortable. I hope management addresses these issues to ensure future guests are treated with respect and provided the level of service Hilton is known for.

Positive: Nothing Negative: Housekeeping did not clean my room or bring us clean towels so when I went to the front desk to ask for clean towels they said I had to bring my dirty towels down to them before they would give me fresh towels. Very poor hospitality

I was in the area attending a conference, so I booked a room at the Hampton Inn for three nights. When I first got into my room, I found multiple bugs. There was also mold in the bathroom sink (see picture) and toilet paper in the toilet. I went out and when I got back to my room, I found even more bugs. I spoke with someone at the front desk, and asked to be moved to another room. She said the best she could do was to look at the bugs in my room, which obviously wouldn’t help me. I reached out to customer service and they said that I could be compensated but still wouldn’t be able to switch my room. I had no choice but to stay the night.
