Hampton Inn Perry

We have stayed here before with no issues but this time was not the best experience. When we made our reservation, which was months before our arrival. we ask for a ground level room because we were bringing our dog and it's more convenient taking her out to potty. They did not accommodate. No biggy just an inconvenience. Then the door to the room wouldn't latch when pulled shut. So one of us had to stay in the room at all times to keep our personal items safe. The thermostat did not work. It was either cool or heat on and which ever one it was it did not kick off. We were either to cold or to hot and constantly having to turn the thermostat off and on to control the room temperature. The TV remote control would not work properly. The front desk lady said it was probably the wrong remot

I arrived at this hotel on a Sunday afternoon, immediately after check in I noticed the room smelled like mildew and it looked like there were ladies of the evening there. They changed my room, same issue. I tried to check out and they told me I would be charged for one nights stay.|| I asked about their 100% guarantee, they could not answer what it was. I told them I felt unsafe and they told me sorry. |I checked out and went to the Holiday Inn across the street, much better and clean. I was charged a $179 incedentals charge for a $139 night that included some points Beware!!!!! I have stayed at Hiltons all over the world at that is just stupid. I figured it was just a mistake which I would have been fine with, but hotel management stuck by that charge $179 They see that as reasonable I guess..please WARN OTHERS!!!!! This place was a JEWEL! GREAT room - totally updated -modern, clean and comfortable. Love the HOOKS and bathroom shelves. There was some.water damage on ceilings in the hallway, but otherwise very well maintained.

Clean and good location. Unfortunately, it’s not very quiet. We could hear the traffic driving by in the middle of the night and got woken up from people talking in the hallway.
