Hampton Inn Groton

Upon check in we asked for the customary Hilton Honors free bottle of water. The front desk gave it to us but reminded us only Hilton Honors Gold members get free water. A bottle of water comes out to about 20 cents when you buy it by the case. Hilton can't just give every guest a couple of bottles of water? Really?The rooms are bare bones but at least looked clean. They did not even provide a paper cup for rinsing your mouth after brushing your teeth. The duvet cover is so scratchy I didn't want to touch it at all but these seem to be the norm at every Hilton family hotel. The sheets are also very scratchy so I wore my workout pants to bed. Ok location. Building well maintained. Room good. Bed base was the noisiest we’ve ever encountered. Bathroom ok. Breakfast typical with potatoes, awful pre-packaged, reheated scrambled eggs. Yogurt, cereals, fruit and the usual variety drinks.

Positive: The first day of my stay my television was not working. I told the very nice desk employee, who immediately went to my room to check. He could not fix it, but the next day when I returned to my room in the evening, my television was working. Negative: ""

We live locally but I booked a room for my daughter and her friends, because she has a December birthday and wanted a pool party and sleepover. It was a series of unfortunate events. First noticed that the main doors were broken - not a big deal but also not a good look when you're paying ~200 a night. Were told upon check-in that the pool was out of order, which of course was a huge bummer. Tried to keep our heads up and plan how to keep the girls busy before getting in the elevator which was frightening. Noisy, clunky, stalling and vibrating - every parent who dropped off reported the same and we used the stairs the whole rest of our stay. Got to the room and immediately went back to request a new one - the beds were made but it obviously hasn't been fully cleaned. It had a weird smel

My family and I stayed for about 14 days and it started to really feel like home. All the employees from front desk to maintenance became like family. It was so close to everything important that we needed. No hotel is perfect and when something was not working properly, it would get fixed. I can’t say enough good things about everyone working front desk and maintenance. Everyone really cared for us and all those staying. I did learn to NOT reserve through www.booking.com. I was advised to go through Hilton website as booking.com over charged me. I’m learning. My family and I will most definitely come back as our daughter is stationed at the submarine navy base. Big thanks to all who made our stay so welcoming.
