If you are looking for a tourist-like cash grabbing, overpriced place to stay this is the place for you. The resort itself is nice. The check-in and out systems they have in place are decent and the RFID bracelets are a good idea, especially from a security perspective. Driving to the door to load and unload the car is a mess. It is wagon and stroller friendly. The rooms are nothing to rave about. They are your run of the mill hotel rooms. The hotel activities are OK. They take place in the lobby which is a little strange to me. The MagiQuest is also a good idea in terms of getting your kids out and moving but thats about where it ends for me. The water park is decent. Not the best that I've been to but not bad. The smell of chlorine hits you as soon as you walk in. To be fair, that sani
The biggest part of this entire trip — the main attraction, the reason families book here — was shut down upon arrival. Fort Mackenzie, the literal centerpiece of the water park, was completely non-operational. No prior warning. No email. No heads up. No attempt at compensation. Nothing. You show up and just find out the “big bucket” isn’t happening. Because of that, every other pool and attraction was completely overcrowded. What should’ve been a fun family experience turned into standing shoulder-to-shoulder in lukewarm water. The food prices are beyond unreasonable. You expect theme park pricing, sure — but this is next level for the quality you get. And if you take *anything* away from this review: the arcade is an absolute scam. The claw machines are blatantly rigged. We watched th
Rooms were cute and clean. Beds were comfortable but way overpriced. You are paying for the ability to say you stayed. What should have been $300-450 tops were closer to 1000. For 4 adults and 4 kids we spent over 2k for 1 night. Will probably just do a beach getaway next time for a fraction of the price.
We had a fabulous Thanksgiving! The park was very busy on the actual day of Thanksgiving, but we still had an amazing experience & great service!||The park has 6 big waterslides, 2 smaller in the Mackenzie fort & some baby ones in the kiddie area. The coaster slide is gone. ||The lifeguards were the friendliest people of any GWL we’ve been to. They all asked us if we were having fun, how our trip was, smiles & we’re always kind and helpful even when reinforcing the rules. ||The rooms were very roomy! We had a 4th floor room which was nice because the ceilings are vaulted. ||We loved having a fridge and microwave in our room. ||The food at the pool snack bar & the pizza was great! We had the buffet breakfast which was tasty as well although we didn’t like the eggs or coffee.||The ar
Edit-I did finally get through to someone and they are supposed to be making things right! My family and I stayed at the Mason,Oh location 3/5-3/6. What was supposed to be a fun surprise getaway for our kids turned out to be an unpleasant experience. When I booked the room the resort parking fee was included in my price and now I’ve received an email saying I have a balance for parking? I tried calling and was on hold waiting to speak to an actual person for 30 minutes never got through to anyone. The most frustrating thing was to find out we paid a decent amount of money for our stay and yet half the pool was closed. The whole middle splash pad was shut down with ZERO heads up online when you book the stay. I brought this up to the front desk and they just nonchalantly blew it off like i
